Upgrading v7 - Internal Testing

Overview

The goal of this section is to have the internal Upgrade Team work through the Ugprade Test Plan.

 

Test upgrade instance

  1. If the Upgrade Team created a Test Plan, each item in the Test Plan should be tested against the upgraded dev site.
  2. At a minimum each ticket in the Upgrade Project should be tested to confirm each customization.
  3. If either the Test Plan doesn't exist or the project has not set up test the below:
    1. Confirm that dtSearch Refresh and Create/Update job complete.
    2. Testing that search results are equivalent to the current prod site.
    3. For any Contact Form, submit a form and confirm the results are submitted and recieved correctly. 
    4. For any Data Lists, confirm that results a displayed as expected. If any filter options exist, filter results and compare to the current prod site.
    5. Confirm that any Social Media Bookmarks in page layouts are working as expected. Email should open an email, Share should generate links, Print should print. If these do not work, legacy js has not been updated.
  4. Testing is important! If the upgrade is not tested or internal or external users do not sign off on the ugprade, it is not guarenteed to work correctly.
