Prerequisites

The redesign should be in a new globe with the client name and the year of the redesign like: [Client ID] [year]. This globe should have it's pages copied from an existing and a new Theme applied. The Url Switcher should have been installed in the instance BEFORE the new globe was set up and Theme was installed. If done, then the Url Switcher can be run for the new globe which will updated new urls to the old urls.

If any of the above steps have not been completed, then other deployment processes are neccessary. There should not be any redesigns that do not follow this process.

Package installs

Team Member: BED

Package installed like BASE, TPI, and Theme should be completed first. It is ideal if these are done before launch day and this step can be skipped. Sometimes web.config redirects will need to be installed and these will be included in an existing package.

Page Security and DNS updates

New globes in prod will often be secured behind login pages to prevent end users from accessing the globe before it has been launched. First remove the login page and update the globe security to include the everyone group and refresh a children.

Navigate to Titan Admin and update the DNS on the old globe, the new globe and in DomainConfig. Old globe should be changed to [ClientId].titanclient.com and new globe should be changed to [Primary DNS].

Run Url switcher

Navigate to Titan Admin and find the Site Transfer Utility background task. Create a new task if not already created. Update the config to set the new site id to the root docid of the new site. Run the background task.
